COBOL Developer - Core Banking

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is looking for a skilled COBOL Developer to join its Core Banking team in Chennai. You will be part of the Atlas2 core banking system support team, working across APAC, NAR, and European regions. This role demands a technically strong professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contribute both independently and as part of a larger team. Key Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and support the Atlas2 core banking application used across multiple global regions - Handle EOD and EOM batch processing tasks and perform ad hoc technical activities as required by the project - Provide L3 support for incident and ticket resolution in a timely manner - Analyze, debug, and troubleshoot application issues to ensure minimal downtime - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement functional and technical project requirements - Monitor and support application performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks proactively - Participate in application maintenance and enhancement activities across the project lifecycle Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in application development, maintenance, and support - Strong technical expertise in Microfocus COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS - Good working knowledge of Unix and Linux server environments - Solid understanding of Oracle and SQL databases - Familiarity with Autosys scheduler is an added advantage - Shell scripting skills will be considered a plus - Experience working within large development or support teams - Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification - Strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail Why Join Us BNP Paribas India Solutions offers a collaborative and inclusive work environment where over 10,000 professionals contribute to delivering world-class banking solutions.
