Cloud Architect AWS

Role Overview Presidio is hiring an experienced AWS Cloud and DevOps Architect to work directly with clients and cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and manage secure cloud-based solutions. This is a senior-level role that demands both strong technical depth in AWS architecture and the leadership ability to guide engineering teams through complex cloud implementations. You will serve as the primary technical authority for project delivery, ensuring best practices are followed across the full lifecycle of cloud adoption. Key Responsibilities - Develop cloud design patterns and architecture frameworks aligned to project requirements - Define architecture standards, promote best practices, and prepare comprehensive technical documentation for project deliverables - Translate high-level cloud designs into actionable implementation plans for DevOps engineering teams - Act as the single point of contact for all technical delivery aspects within assigned projects - Provide thought leadership on solution decisions, technical challenges, and internal initiatives - Support pre-sales teams with technical guidance and effort estimation for client proposals - Manage project activities including work breakdown structures, scheduling, and client status reporting - Participate in sprint planning and story point estimation to help organise development tasks - Mentor and guide team members on cloud technologies and best practices Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience - 8 or more years of industry experience with strong exposure to cloud, DevOps, and automation - At least 4 years of experience in designing and architecting public or private cloud environments, preferably AWS - AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification and/or relevant AWS Specialty certification - Solid knowledge of core infrastructure domains including networking, compute, security, backup, and monitoring - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Ruby, Golang, or PowerShell - Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines - Experience with container technologies and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Fargate, or EKS - Familiarity with AWS Serverless services including Lambda and Step Functions - Experience with cloud security posture assessment using tools like AWS Security Hub - Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its practical application - Expertise in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and design - Experience with cloud cost management and infrastructure optimisation - Hands-on experience with Site-to-Site VPN and AWS Direct Connect for datacentre connectivity - Demonstrated experience in large-scale cloud migrations covering discovery, build, and migration phases Why Join Us At Presidio, you will be part of a forward-thinking team of builders and innovators who are shaping the future of digital transformation through AI, cloud, and cybersecurity solutions.
