Civil and Structural Engineer Leader

Role Overview Tecnicas Reunidas is a globally renowned engineering and construction contractor operating across Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Power Generation, Energy Transition, and Infrastructure sectors in over 60 countries. We are seeking an experienced Civil and Structural Engineer Leader to join our Chennai team and lead engineering deliverables across complex industrial projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in structural analysis and design along with proven leadership capabilities in FEED, BASIC Engineering, Conceptual Design, PMT, and PMC services. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage large-scale civil and structural engineering projects across Oil and Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, and Power Plant sectors - Define project scope, man-hour budgets, and schedules while ensuring team productivity and timely delivery - Serve as the primary technical focal point for the assigned project team, Project Management, and cross-disciplinary coordination - Review and quality-check all engineering deliverables issued for the project - Implement lessons learned and value engineering principles throughout project execution - Conduct structural analysis and design of plant structures including pipe racks, technological structures, and equipment foundations using Euro and American codes - Support interdisciplinary technical bid clarifications and vendor meetings - Assist Project Managers in coordinating with clients on technical matters - Prepare man-hour estimations, engineering progress reports, and manpower forecasts - Evaluate team performance, resolve conflicts, and guide self-certification processes Required Qualifications - Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 15 to 20 years of total industry experience including leadership roles - Extensive experience as a Lead or Area Lead in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Power Plant projects - Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as STAAD Pro, SAP 2000, and FOUNDATION 3D - Strong knowledge of Front End Engineering Design principles, Euro codes, and American structural design codes - Experience in cost estimation, risk assessment, and vendor or client management - Ability to provide technical assistance to sales and estimating teams for proposal development - Excellent coordination, communication, and team management skills Why Join Us Tecnicas Reunidas offers a dynamic and globally connected work environment where engineering excellence drives impactful industrial projects across five continents.
