Role Overview Standard Chartered India is hiring an Assistant Vice President in Production Engineering for the Wealth and Retail Banking Technology division. This senior-level role is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of production services across critical banking platforms. You will serve as the primary technical lead for incident management, change governance, and site reliability engineering practices in a fast-paced 24x7 environment. Key Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end resolution of high-priority and high-severity production incidents within agreed SLAs and perform thorough root cause analysis - Drive monitoring and observability initiatives to enable proactive issue detection and rapid remediation across critical services - Automate operational tasks including deployments, scaling, and infrastructure management to reduce manual effort and operational risk - Apply SRE practices including post-incident reviews, post-mortems, and deployment pipeline optimization using blue/green and canary release strategies - Review and implement production changes and rollouts with minimal impact, ensuring fallback plans, implementation steps, and validation checks are in place - Leverage AI-driven tools for log analysis, anomaly detection, alert correlation, and capacity forecasting to proactively resolve production issues - Integrate AI and ML capabilities into monitoring, incident management, and self-healing workflows in collaboration with engineering and platform teams - Provide inputs for monthly dashboards covering incident and problem trends, SIP items, and RCA action points - Participate in cross-training and structured knowledge transfer activities across support and engineering teams - Ensure compliance with the bank's risk, security, data governance, and regulatory conduct standards Required Qualifications - Minimum 10 years of experience in application production support and stability within SRE or product specialist roles - Mandatory hands-on expertise in Temenos T24 or Temenos Triple A Plus - Mandatory proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Hibernate - Strong working knowledge of at least one relational database among DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL - Mandatory experience with Linux operating systems - Mandatory expertise in Kubernetes and AWS cloud infrastructure - Hands-on experience with Tomcat or JBoss application servers - Proficient working experience with Elasticsearch and Grafana - Graduate degree in computer science or an equivalent technical discipline - Willingness to work in a rotational shift model including night shifts on a 24x7 basis Why Join Us Standard Chartered is a 170-year-old international bank that champions diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning, offering a competitive compensation package with flexible working options, robust wellbeing support, and a culture that encourages innovation and professional growth.
