AVP Production Engineering WRB Tech

Role Overview Standard Chartered India is hiring an experienced AVP for Production Engineering within its Wealth and Retail Banking Technology division. This senior role is responsible for ensuring the stability, quality, and continuous improvement of production services across critical banking platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in application production support, site reliability engineering, and a strong command of Temenos T24 or Triple A Plus in a 24x7 operational environment. Key Responsibilities - Manage high-priority and high-severity incident resolution end-to-end, ensuring adherence to SLA targets and conducting thorough root cause analysis for all major incidents - Drive north star monitoring and observability goals by establishing comprehensive alerting, logging, and proactive detection mechanisms for critical services - Automate operational tasks including deployments, scaling, and infrastructure management to reduce manual effort and minimise operational risk - Lead change, release, and rollout management with zero or minimal impact on application stability, including fallback planning, data migration, and validation checks - Apply SRE practices including post-incident reviews, performance optimisation, and robust deployment pipeline design such as blue-green and canary strategies - Leverage AI-driven tools for log analysis, anomaly detection, alert correlation, and capacity forecasting to proactively resolve production issues - Contribute to monthly dashboards covering incident and problem trends, SIP updates, and RCA action items for management reporting - Support cross-training and knowledge transfer initiatives across production support and engineering teams Required Qualifications - Minimum 10 years of experience in application production support with SRE and product specialist responsibilities - Mandatory hands-on experience with Temenos T24 or Temenos Triple A Plus - Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Hibernate is mandatory - Strong working knowledge of at least one database platform among DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL - Linux administration experience is essential - Kubernetes and AWS are mandatory skills - Tomcat or JBoss application server experience is required - Proficient user experience with Elasticsearch and Grafana - Willingness to work in rotational shifts including night shifts as part of a 24x7 support model - Any graduation in computer science or an equivalent technical field Why Join Us Standard Chartered is a global bank with over 170 years of history, offering a purpose-driven career with competitive pay, flexible working, generous leave policies, and a strong culture of inclusion, continuous learning, and employee wellbeing.
