AVP Production Engineering WRB Tech

Role Overview Standard Chartered India is hiring an AVP for Production Engineering within its Wealth and Retail Banking Technology division. This is a critical mid-senior role responsible for ensuring production service stability, driving incident management, and championing site reliability engineering practices across complex banking platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Temenos T24, Java-based stacks, and cloud-native infrastructure to support a high-availability, 24x7 production environment. Key Responsibilities - Ensure maximum service quality and stability by responding promptly to technical incidents and driving continual service improvement initiatives - Perform root cause analysis for high-severity and S@R incidents and ensure all follow-up action items are completed within SLA - Manage end-to-end production changes, releases, and rollouts with minimal disruption to application stability and client experience - Review dependent changes across surrounding systems, infrastructure, and networks and ensure rollback and fallback plans are in place - Build and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for critical services to enable proactive detection and rapid remediation - Drive automation of operational tasks including deployments, scaling, and infrastructure management to reduce manual effort and risk - Participate in post-incident reviews and post-mortems to minimise downtime and embed learning from failures - Leverage AI-driven tools for log analysis, anomaly detection, alert correlation, and capacity forecasting to proactively resolve production issues - Integrate AI and ML capabilities into monitoring, incident management, and self-healing workflows in collaboration with engineering teams - Proactively identify application risks and manage mitigation actions including timely closure of information security and operational risk items - Provide inputs for monthly dashboards covering incident trends, service improvement plans, and RCA action items - Support cross-training and structured knowledge transfer within and across support and engineering teams Required Qualifications - Minimum 10 years of experience in application production support and stability with SRE or product specialist responsibilities - Mandatory hands-on experience with Temenos T24 or Temenos Triple A Plus - Strong proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Hibernate - Working knowledge of at least one relational database such as DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL - Solid experience with Linux operating systems - Mandatory experience with Kubernetes and AWS cloud infrastructure - Hands-on experience with Tomcat or JBoss application servers - Proficient working knowledge of Elasticsearch and Grafana - Graduation in computer science or an equivalent technical field - Willingness to work in rotational shifts including night shifts as part of a 24x7 support model Why Join Us Standard Chartered is a purpose-driven international bank with over 170 years of legacy, committed to building an inclusive, high-performance culture where talent thrives.
