Automation Testing Developer

Role Overview Citi is looking for a skilled Automation Testing Developer to join its Technology team in Chennai. This intermediate-level role focuses on designing and executing test automation strategies for banking applications, leveraging AI-driven tools and modern testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring strong programming expertise, banking domain knowledge, and a passion for continuous improvement in quality engineering. Key Responsibilities - Design and build scalable test automation frameworks using AI-powered tools and technologies - Develop automated test scripts covering functional and regression testing of banking applications - Integrate AI and machine learning models to enhance test case generation, defect prediction, and anomaly detection - Apply banking domain knowledge to ensure thorough test coverage, with emphasis on Disputes workflows - Analyse project requirements, create test plans, and execute test cases aligned with business and end-user needs - Perform test data analysis, creation, and conditioning to support testing activities - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development teams - Monitor and report on test coverage, defect metrics, and overall application quality - Act as a subject matter expert and drive compliance and strategic automation across development frameworks - Stay current with emerging AI technologies and testing methodologies to drive innovation Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline - 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry - Minimum 2 years of experience in the banking domain as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer - Proficiency in Java, Python, VB Script, or JavaScript - Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, or UFT for test automation - Good programming experience with Pega - Familiarity with ALM, JIRA, Zephyr, and advanced Excel features - Experience with Oracle and SQL for test data mining and generation - Knowledge of BDD/TDD methodologies and Cucumber framework - Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins - Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman or SOAPUI - Understanding of deep learning fundamentals, RAG, and large language models - Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Why Join Us Citi is a globally respected financial institution that values innovation, inclusion, and professional growth.
