Job Description

Role Overview WPP, one of the world's largest creative transformation and marketing services organisations, is hiring an L1 Automation Support Engineer to join its newly established Automation Operations Centre (AOC) team in Chennai. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity within WPP's Enterprise Technology, Automation and AI department, where you will play a key role in managing, monitoring, and supporting a growing portfolio of RPA and Power Platform automation solutions across the global WPP network. If you are a detail-oriented and proactive individual eager to build a career in automation and AI operations, this role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies alongside a team of seasoned engineers. Key Responsibilities - Monitor the health and performance of RPA bots including UiPath and Power Automate Desktop as well as Power Automate flows using established dashboards and reporting tools - Log all incoming incidents accurately with detailed descriptions, screenshots, and contextual information into the incident management system - Perform first-line diagnostics and basic troubleshooting based on runbooks and knowledge base articles to resolve common automation failures - Escalate complex or unresolved incidents to L2 or L3 support engineers with a clear and comprehensive handover of gathered information - Communicate timely updates to end-users and stakeholders regarding incident status and resolution progress - Execute pre-defined SQL or reporting system queries to retrieve data and assist in diagnosing automation issues under supervision - Assist in maintaining and updating support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles based on observed issues - Provide support during testing phases for RPA tool updates, patches, and version upgrades as directed by senior engineers - Help gather performance metric data for automation solutions to track system stability and efficiency - Strictly follow established operational procedures, security policies, and incident management protocols Required Qualifications - Overall 2 or more years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or technical operations role - Minimum 1 year of hands-on exposure to RPA technologies such as UiPath or Microsoft Power Automate Desktop, or Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate and Power Apps - Foundational understanding of Robotic Process Automation concepts and tools - Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Power Automate flows - Basic knowledge of SQL including ability to run pre-defined queries and understand database structures - Proficiency in incident management platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management - Familiarity with monitoring tools and the ability to interpret dashboards - Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and networking concepts - Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and helpful approach - Mandatory certifications: PL-500 Microsoft Certified Power Automate RPA Developer Associate and PL-900 Microsoft Certified Power Platform Fundamentals - Preferred certifications: UiPath Automation Developer Associate and PL-400 Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer Associate Why Join Us At WPP you will have the opportunity to work on projects at a truly global scale, gaining invaluable experience with next-generation automation and AI technologies within a collaborative and inclusive culture that values creativity, continuous learning, and career growth.

Requirements
