Associate / Technical Lead - Software Development

Role Overview KLA is a global leader in semiconductor process control technologies, powering virtually every electronic device in the world. As an Associate or Technical Lead in Software Development at KLA's Chennai centre, you will be part of the Surfscan group within the Global Products Group, contributing to the development of advanced wafer inspection and metrology systems. This role involves designing and delivering high-quality software for large-scale semiconductor products in close collaboration with cross-functional teams spread across India and the USA. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, integrate and maintain software features for large-scale semiconductor inspection products - Work with multi-site teams across India and the USA, including non-software stakeholders, throughout the full software development lifecycle - Ensure that detailed designs, code and unit tests are robust, scalable and future-proof - Analyse complex technical problems and evaluate various factors to arrive at effective solutions - Understand existing software architecture and drive meaningful design and architectural improvements - Participate in requirements definition and review, and provide technical impact assessments for any product changes - Contribute technical input to project estimation and planning processes - Identify, highlight and help mitigate technical risks in coordination with the Technical Manager - Continuously look for opportunities to improve development procedures and propose practical solutions Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 6 or more years of experience in large software systems or semiconductor products - Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field with 4 or more years of relevant experience - Strong hands-on development experience on the Windows platform - Solid knowledge of UML, object-oriented programming and object-oriented design methodologies - Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms - Sound understanding of multi-threading and multicore programming concepts - Familiarity with STL and Boost libraries is a plus - Experience with VC++ on Windows is an added advantage - Troubleshooting experience in complex software environments is beneficial - Knowledge of AWS and Web APIs is an added advantage - Excellent communication, interpersonal and team coordination skills - Strong problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn quickly Why Join Us KLA invests more than 15 percent of its annual sales back into research and development, creating an environment where engineers solve genuinely hard, meaningful problems at the frontier of semiconductor technology.
