Associate / Technical Lead, Software Development

Role Overview KLA is a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, powering virtually every electronic device in the world. This is a career-level, seasoned software engineering role that combines deep technical ownership with leadership responsibilities within the Surfscan product division. The selected candidate will drive software design, architecture improvements, and may lead small cross-functional teams for critical feature development. Key Responsibilities - Acquire and demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge of Surfscan software platforms - Act as a technology evangelist for the Surfscan product division within KLA - Work on complex software problems requiring detailed analysis and evaluation of multiple technical factors - Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and future-proof code and unit tests - Drive software architecture improvements and participate in design and requirements review sessions - Provide technical impact assessments for changes to product requirements and contribute to project estimation - Build deep understanding of key use cases in Bare Wafer Inspection for IC and wafer customers - Lead small teams for feature development initiatives when required - Identify, review, and mitigate technical risks in collaboration with the Technical Manager - Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously propose process improvements Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience - Master's degree holders with 2 years of experience or Doctorate holders are also eligible - Strong grasp of software design principles, architectural patterns, and development best practices - Proven experience working on complex software systems in a product engineering environment - Ability to lead technical discussions and drive design decisions across teams - Familiarity with software development processes, risk identification, and mitigation strategies Why Join Us KLA invests over 15 percent of its annual sales back into research and development, making it one of the most innovation-driven companies in the global semiconductor space.
