Associate / Specialist - Software Technology

Role Overview KLA is a globally recognized leader in semiconductor process control technology, powering the electronics that shape modern life. The Surfscan division within KLA's Global Products Group is seeking a skilled Software Technology Associate or Specialist to serve as a technology evangelist and drive innovation in wafer inspection software platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-impact problems alongside world-class engineers and researchers in a fast-paced semiconductor environment. Key Responsibilities - Champion software technology initiatives for the Surfscan product division and act as an evangelist for best practices and innovation - Analyse complex software challenges by evaluating multiple factors and developing concept prototypes that evolve into executable plans - Build deep knowledge of bare wafer inspection use cases serving IC and wafer manufacturer customers - Track emerging technology and process trends to define coding standards, tools, and platforms for the software team - Collaborate with software teams across divisions to identify productivity barriers and propose both incremental and transformative improvements - Engage with stakeholders, project managers, and developers to envision, model, and architect solutions for technical challenges - Conduct regular code reviews to ensure design quality, code clarity, and adherence to established coding standards - Mentor development team members and foster continuous knowledge growth within the group - Author comprehensive software requirement specifications and detailed design documents covering functionality, performance, scalability, security, and technical constraints Required Qualifications - Doctorate degree or 2 years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree or 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in a related field - Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture, and modern development practices - Experience in semiconductor or electronics domain is an advantage - Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders - Passion for reading and applying industry technology and process trends Why Join Us KLA invests over 15 percent of its annual sales revenue back into research and development, creating an environment where innovation and problem-solving are at the heart of everything. - Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline - Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant software development or technology experience depending on education level - Proficiency in software architecture, design patterns, and coding best practices - Experience collaborating across cross-functional and multi-team environments - Ability to create detailed software requirement and design specification documents - Strong mentoring and team collaboration skills - Familiarity with semiconductor or electronics manufacturing technology is a plus
