Associate / Specialist - Software Technology

Role Overview KLA is a globally recognised leader in semiconductor process control and diversified electronics manufacturing. As an Associate or Specialist in Software Technology within the Surfscan product division, you will serve as a technology evangelist driving software innovation, modernisation, and excellence across teams. This role sits at the heart of next-generation semiconductor inspection technology and offers you the opportunity to shape software strategy for industry-leading wafer and IC inspection platforms. Key Responsibilities - Act as the technology evangelist for the Surfscan product division and champion best practices in software design and development - Work on complex software challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of technical data, system architectures, and process trends - Create software concepts and prototypes and help convert them into structured, executable plans - Research and define tools, coding standards, and technology platforms suited for the software team - Collaborate with internal and cross-divisional software teams to identify productivity barriers and propose incremental and disruptive improvements - Engage with stakeholders, project managers, and developers to envision and design end-to-end solutions - Regularly review code check-ins to ensure design quality, code clarity, and adherence to coding standards - Mentor development team members and support their continuous technical growth - Author detailed software requirement specifications and design documents covering functionality, performance, scalability, security, and technical constraints - Build knowledge of key use cases in bare wafer inspection for IC and wafer customers Required Qualifications - Doctorate degree or 2 years of relevant work experience, OR Master's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience, OR Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant work experience - Strong grasp of software design principles, coding standards, and modern development platforms - Demonstrated experience reviewing code and mentoring development teams - Ability to work across cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Familiarity with semiconductor or electronics manufacturing domains is an advantage Why Join Us KLA invests over 15 percent of its annual revenue back into research and development, making it one of the most innovation-driven organisations in the semiconductor space. - Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 2 to 5 years of relevant software development or technology experience based on educational qualification - Proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding standards - Experience with code review processes and software quality assurance - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges - Ability to create software prototypes and translate concepts into execution plans - Effective stakeholder communication and cross-team collaboration skills - Knowledge of bare wafer inspection or semiconductor process control is a plus - Passion for staying current with technology and industry process trends
