Job Description

Role Overview Standard Chartered India is looking for an Associate Production Engineer to join the WRB Technology team in Chennai. This role is central to maintaining high service quality and system stability across one or more specialised platform domains. You will lead incident management, drive continuous service improvement, and champion SRE practices in a 24x7 production environment. Key Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end resolution of high-priority and medium-to-high severity incidents within defined SLAs - Conduct thorough root cause analysis for critical incidents and ensure all follow-up remediation actions are completed - Oversee production changes, releases, and rollouts with minimal disruption to application stability and client experience - Review dependent changes across surrounding systems, infrastructure, and network layers to ensure comprehensive impact assessment - Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging for critical services to enable proactive issue detection and rapid remediation - Automate operational tasks such as deployments, scaling, and infrastructure management to reduce manual effort and operational risk - Contribute to deployment pipeline design using strategies such as blue/green or canary releases - Participate in post-incident reviews and post-mortems to institutionalise learnings and prevent recurrence - Leverage AI-driven tools for log analysis, anomaly detection, alert correlation, and capacity forecasting - Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to integrate AI and ML capabilities into monitoring and self-healing workflows - Maintain and update production support documentation including DR and BCP plans - Provide inputs for monthly dashboards covering incident trends, SIP updates, and RCA action items - Support cross-training and structured knowledge transfer activities within the support team Required Qualifications - Minimum 7 years of experience in application production support and system stability within an SRE framework - Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Hibernate is mandatory - Hands-on experience with at least one of DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL - Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems - Mandatory experience with Kubernetes and AWS - Must have skills in Tomcat and JBoss application servers - Proficient user experience with Elasticsearch and Grafana - Familiarity with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot - Any graduation in computer science or an equivalent technical field - Willingness to work in rotational shifts including night shifts as part of a 24x7 support model Why Join Us Standard Chartered is a globally respected bank with over 170 years of history, committed to making a positive difference for clients and communities. Requirements

- 7 or more years in application production support and SRE roles - Mandatory skills in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Hibernate - Experience with DB2, Oracle, or PostgreSQL - Strong Linux administration skills - Mandatory hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS - Proficiency in Tomcat and JBoss - Proficient use of Elasticsearch and Grafana - Familiarity with AI tools including GitHub Copilot - Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and SLA-driven support - Willingness to work 24x7 rotational shifts including nights - Graduation in computer science or equivalent field
