Assistant Planning Manager

Role Overview Arista Networks, a global leader in data-driven cloud networking solutions with over 5 billion USD in annual revenue, is looking for an experienced Assistant Planning Manager to join its operations team in Chennai. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity for a seasoned production planning professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced manufacturing environments. You will play a central role in aligning supply chain operations, managing contract manufacturer relationships, and ensuring seamless on-time delivery to customers across the DF region. Key Responsibilities - Manage contract manufacturer planning staff to ensure material flow aligns with production schedules and end customer requirements - Create and maintain a master production schedule that supports business forecasts, including safety stock management - Analyze demand patterns to identify supply and production bottlenecks and recommend timely corrective actions - Coordinate with distribution facility teams to evaluate and improve on-time delivery performance - Oversee third-party warehouse inventory accuracy and ensure FIFO compliance - Coordinate product returns (RMAs) and manage returns to distribution facilities or headquarters - Conduct daily production meetings, monitor production status, and adjust schedules proactively to meet deadlines - Liaise with Product Management, Asia Ops Planning Manager, and internal support teams to resolve escalations and ensure customer satisfaction - Assist in production risk assessment, mitigation planning, and new product development activities - Coordinate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with relevant stakeholders - Ensure finished goods meet quality standards and customer specifications Required Qualifications - Minimum six years of hands-on scheduling experience in a complex manufacturing and assembly environment - Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within manufacturing or production operations - Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a track record of success in high-complexity environments - Solid knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems and related software - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities - Ability to travel occasionally to the US, Mexico, or Europe to meet contract manufacturers as required - Flexibility to work non-standard hours when project deadlines demand - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or a related field preferred Why Join Us Arista Networks is consistently recognised as a Great Place to Work, celebrated for its engineering-first culture, flat management structure, and genuine commitment to diversity, work-life balance, and employee growth.
