Applications Support Senior Analyst - Assistant Vice President

Role Overview Citi is hiring an Applications Support Senior Analyst at the Assistant Vice President level to join its Data Solutions Production Management team in Chennai. In this high-visibility role, you will be responsible for running and maintaining the production environment for Citi's critical Reference Data Applications, which form the backbone of operations across Markets, Services, Banking, and Functions. You will be part of a high-performing global team that leverages cutting-edge technologies, AI-driven automation, and reliability engineering to deliver a world-class client experience. Key Responsibilities - Manage enterprise-level production applications with 5 or more years of experience, providing technical and business support while driving stability, efficiency, and risk management improvements - Resolve critical incidents through timely prioritization, stakeholder communication, escalation, and thorough root cause analysis to prevent recurrence - Plan and execute system changes including application releases, infrastructure maintenance, and business continuity tests while maintaining production stability - Maintain and optimize monitoring and observability platforms by implementing new features and leveraging analytics for proactive alerting - Collaborate with development teams to recommend and implement improvements to application stability, performance, and recoverability - Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce operational toil, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk Required Qualifications - Deep expertise in Unix/Linux systems and advanced Shell scripting - Proficiency with enterprise monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos and AppDynamics, and log aggregation platforms such as Splunk and ELK - Hands-on experience with containerization platforms including OpenShift and Kubernetes - Strong working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB) - Experience with messaging solutions such as Tibco EMS, MQ, and Kafka - Solid understanding of REST APIs and distributed application architecture including networks, load balancers, storage, and authentication (AD/LDAP) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences - Desirable: Python or Java programming skills, familiarity with Generative AI and LLM prompt engineering, and experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana Why Join Us Citi offers a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative work culture where you will gain exposure to advanced technologies and build extensive institutional knowledge by interfacing with virtually every business and function across a global bank.
