Application Support Engineer

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is hiring an experienced Application Support Engineer to join its IT CARATS department in Chennai. This role focuses on monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing application and infrastructure within non-production environments for French entities under BNP Paribas Cardif, the insurance arm of BNP Paribas. The position demands a high degree of autonomy, technical depth, and the ability to thrive in an Agile and DevOps-driven environment. Key Responsibilities - Independently manage day-to-day IT operations to ensure non-production environment stability and service availability - Implement, configure, and oversee monitoring and alerting solutions using tools such as Dynatrace for applications and technical components - Proactively identify risks, performance bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities across legacy and cloud infrastructure - Support development teams in accelerating and securing deliveries within Agile and DevOps frameworks - Diagnose and resolve operational issues related to performance, network flows, and security in non-production environments - Lead incident and problem management processes including root cause analysis, coordination, and stakeholder communication - Participate in IT-Business meetings to align technical operations with business priorities - Manage release preparation, deployment activities, and transitions to production - Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge repositories - Escalate complex issues to the French PHP Team when required Required Qualifications - Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field - Minimum 5 years of experience in IT operations and application support - Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tools, preferably Dynatrace - Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift - Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Argo CD, and XL Release - Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Mainframe operating systems - Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management via Ansible - Familiarity with Oracle and SQL databases - Knowledge of ITIL concepts and service management practices including ServiceNow - Understanding of scheduling tools such as Control-M and file transfer solutions like CFT Why Join Us BNP Paribas India Solutions offers a dynamic, inclusive, and globally connected work environment where over 10,000 professionals drive innovation across banking and financial services.
