Application Development Senior Manager - Vice President

Role Overview Citi is looking for an experienced Application Development Senior Manager at the Vice President level to lead and manage a high-performing technology team in Chennai. This senior role focuses on driving application systems analysis, programming activities, and DevOps practices across a complex financial services environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Python development, and container orchestration platforms to ensure robust and scalable application delivery. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and support end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using tools including Jenkins and Lightspeed - Convert and configure Python scripts to align with CI/CD standards, ensuring proper unit test coverage and vulnerability assessments - Integrate CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket and GitHub for source control and change management - Develop and maintain automation using Shell scripting to improve deployment efficiency and reliability - Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python applications built on microservice architecture - Provide hands-on support for OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms including deployments, capacity monitoring, and performance optimization - Troubleshoot and debug production issues to optimise application performance and system stability - Monitor application and container logs using observability tools such as Kibana and Grafana - Support the Software Development Life Cycle, release governance, and change management processes via ServiceNow - Identify and escalate risks related to system stability, security, and compliance in line with regulatory requirements - Partner with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to resolve technical challenges - Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior analysts and team members Required Qualifications - 6 or more years of experience in DevOps, application development, platform engineering, or infrastructure delivery roles - Strong Python 3.x and Anaconda development and debugging skills - Proven experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Lightspeed, GitHub, and Bitbucket - Hands-on production experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes - Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation and operational tasks - Experience with release and change management platforms such as ServiceNow - Practical knowledge of container monitoring and logging tools including Kibana and Grafana - Solid understanding of SDLC processes, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery methodologies - Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders - Background in financial services or large-scale global enterprise environments preferred - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred Why Join Us Citi offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where you will work alongside some of the brightest minds in global financial technology.
