AI Vision Engineer

As an AI Vision Engineer based in Chennai, you will be part of the KLA Services team, working at the cutting edge of computer vision and AI to support semiconductor service environments. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven engineer to build and deploy vision systems that directly impact the future of electronics manufacturing. Key Responsibilities - Design, train, and deploy computer vision models for object detection, image classification, and precise positioning in semiconductor service settings - Build and maintain robust image and video processing pipelines capable of handling real-world field conditions - Develop end-to-end training data pipelines including data collection, annotation, augmentation, and quality control - Optimize vision models for inference speed and efficiency across various deployment targets while balancing accuracy and compute constraints - Integrate vision capabilities into multimodal AI systems combining visual perception with knowledge retrieval and reasoning - Develop evaluation frameworks to benchmark model performance against real field data - Design model architectures that support both AI knowledge systems and future robotics or automation applications - Stay current with advances in computer vision research and translate relevant developments into production systems - Document model architectures, training procedures, and deployment patterns for team knowledge sharing Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred - Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience building and deploying computer vision systems; strong fresh graduates with notable projects or research are also encouraged to apply - Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow - Practical experience with object detection and classification architectures along with transfer learning and fine-tuning methods - Experience constructing training data pipelines including annotation tooling, data augmentation, and active learning strategies - Familiarity with model optimization techniques suited for edge or resource-constrained deployments - Solid understanding of image processing fundamentals and camera systems - Self-motivated with the ability to experiment, iterate, and drive progress independently - Experience in manufacturing, robotics, industrial inspection, or semiconductor environments is a plus - Exposure to 3D vision, depth estimation, or point cloud processing is an added advantage Why Join Us KLA invests approximately 15 percent of its annual sales back into research and development, reflecting a deep commitment to innovation and technological leadership.
