Role Overview
MUFG, one of the world's foremost financial groups and part of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, is seeking a driven Trade Finance Analyst to join its Bengaluru operations. This is a full-time entry-level opportunity suited for individuals looking to build a career in trade finance within a globally respected institution. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support trade finance operations, contribute to compliance efforts, and help deliver outstanding service to clients across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Trace, review and audit trade finance documents including outstanding payments, document examinations, discrepancy notifications, letters of credit renewals and maturity files
- Identify and escalate potential risks related to letters of credit transactions
- Reconcile and balance letters of credit fees, liabilities and posted items
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries in adherence to established service level agreements
- Support processing of specialised trade finance transactions such as letters of credit, amendments, acceptances and collections reimbursements
- Assist with preparation and recording of issuances, amendments, negotiations and trade finance correspondence including standby and commercial letters of credit, documentary collections and supply chain finance
- Assist with verification and disbursement of payments while adhering to export and import regulations
- Produce analytical reports and identify patterns in trade finance data
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and regional regulatory frameworks including UCP, URC, ISP, ISBP, AML, and Bank Secrecy Act guidelines
- Contribute to tracking and improving standard operating procedures
Required Qualifications
- Degree in finance or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience
- Prior exposure to a complex financial services environment with trade finance support experience preferred
- Basic understanding of financial products, accounting principles and compliance regulations
- Awareness of regional bank policies, procedures and government regulatory agencies
- Familiarity with economic and political risks in international trade such as exchange rate risk
- Working knowledge of trade financing reporting, reconciliation and audit tools
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and inclusive approach
- High integrity, sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset

Requirements
- Degree in finance or related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in trade finance servicing or structuring trade deals
- Basic understanding of financial products and accounting principles
- Knowledge of compliance regulations and regional bank policies
- Understanding of international trade risks including exchange rate risk
- Familiarity with UCP, URC, ISP and ISBP guidelines
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication and active listening abilities
- Proficiency in leveraging technology for efficiency and reporting
