Staff SW Engineer

Role Overview Pismo (a Visa company) is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with a strong focus on Quality Engineering (QA / SDET) to design and implement quality strategies for global payment technology products in Bengaluru. You will lead quality efforts within a cross-functional Agile squad, collaborating closely with software and DevOps engineers to build and test highly reliable, distributed cloud-native services. This role demands a builder mentality with deep automation expertise to push beyond traditional testing approaches. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and quality strategies using Golang and JVM-based languages. - Validate distributed systems and cloud-native services deployed on AWS, checking for race conditions, concurrency issues, and transactional consistency. - Integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Git to ensure continuous feedback loops. - Lead technical QA initiatives, mentor other engineers, and consult across teams to resolve complex quality and debugging challenges. Required Qualifications - Over 5 years of relevant QA or SDET experience with a Bachelor's degree, or over 2 years with a Master's degree, or equivalent industry experience. - At least 3 years of hands-on experience writing automated tests in Golang, with familiarity in Java or other JVM-based languages. - Solid experience testing applications deployed on cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and verifying relational or non-relational databases.
