Software Engineer II - Snowflake and Data Engineering

Role Overview Carelon Global Solutions, a fully owned subsidiary of Elevance Health and one of America's leading managed healthcare companies, is hiring a Software Engineer II to join its data engineering team in Gurugram or Bangalore. In this role, you will design and build scalable data solutions on Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric, working with large and complex healthcare datasets including claims, eligibility, provider, clinical, and pharmacy data. You will collaborate closely with business analysts and cross-functional stakeholders to translate healthcare business requirements into robust technical data solutions. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric components including Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Warehouses, and Pipelines - Build and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and data transformations for large-scale healthcare datasets - Develop and manage data pipelines, semantic models, and data products across Microsoft Data Fabric - Analyze healthcare data to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives - Ensure data quality, accuracy, and performance optimization while adhering to healthcare data standards - Perform root cause analysis for data issues and implement scalable, reliable fixes - Support user acceptance testing, data validation, reconciliation, and production support activities - Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and proper PHI and PII data handling - Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and data engineering best practices Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field - Minimum 2 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering roles - Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake including data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization - Solid experience with Microsoft Data Fabric including Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, and Warehouses - Expert-level SQL skills for data analysis, transformation, and validation - Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL or ELT patterns - Prior experience working with large and complex datasets on cloud data platforms Why Join Us Carelon Global Solutions offers a world of limitless career opportunities within a culture that champions innovation, learning, and well-being.
