Senior Software Engineer III - GenAI

Role Overview Carelon Global Solutions India, a fully owned subsidiary of Elevance Health, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer III with strong expertise in Generative AI and machine learning. This is a full-time senior-level role focused on building and deploying next-generation AI systems for healthcare operations. You will work at the intersection of large language models, agentic AI, and scalable cloud infrastructure to drive meaningful impact across health plan and provider solutions. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and deploy scalable LLM, RAG, and agent-based systems for production environments - Architect robust LLM inference and deployment pipelines with a focus on efficiency and cost optimisation - Optimise AI models for production readiness including quantization, pruning, and distillation techniques - Collaborate cross-functionally with data science, research, and product teams to align engineering output with business goals - Maintain high code quality standards through testing, reproducibility, and CI/CD integration - Mentor junior engineers and champion engineering best practices across the team - Ensure responsible, ethical, and secure AI development throughout the software lifecycle - Build and manage data pipelines using ELT/ETL processes on Snowflake - Deploy and manage AI workloads on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - 5 or more years of experience in software engineering or data engineering roles - Advanced Python programming skills with strong knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn - Hands-on deep learning experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow - Practical experience with LLM frameworks including Hugging Face Transformers and LangChain - Strong background in Agentic AI frameworks such as AutoGen, CrewAI, and LangGraph - Expertise in RAG pipelines, semantic search, and vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, or Chroma - Solid software engineering foundations covering microservices, TDD, and concurrency - Strong working knowledge of Snowflake including data modeling, SQL optimisation, and performance tuning - Familiarity with MLOps tools like Git and MLflow and CI/CD orchestration via Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes Why Join Us At Carelon Global Solutions, you will be part of a globally connected team working to simplify healthcare operations through innovation and cutting-edge technology.
