Role Overview Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer to join the Alexa Daily Essentials team in Chennai. Key Responsibilities - Define and drive software architecture for complex, scalable, and high-availability systems - Lead end-to-end software development of cross-functional, customer-facing features and services - Establish design principles, select appropriate design patterns, and promote software development best practices across multiple teams - Anticipate system bottlenecks and manage technical trade-offs while balancing business priorities - Drive technical consensus within the team and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver the best customer experience - Champion engineering excellence and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, production-ready software Required Qualifications - 3 or more years of professional software development experience outside of internship roles - 2 or more years of experience in system design or architecture including design patterns, reliability, and scaling - Hands-on programming experience in at least one software language - Preferred: 3 or more years of experience across the full software development life cycle including code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations - Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline Why Join Us Amazon offers an inclusive, collaborative culture where engineers have a real impact on products that millions of people rely on daily.
