Senior Specialist

Role Overview Sun Life is seeking a Senior Specialist in Strategic Sourcing - IT to join our procurement team in Gurugram. In this role, you will manage lower-spend tactical IT purchases and cultivate critical supplier relationships across our Asian and Canadian business units. Your efforts will directly support our mission to help clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. Key Responsibilities - Manage the sourcing process for high-volume, low-risk IT engagements including software, hardware, and services - Lead contract negotiations and guide stakeholders through legal, technical, and compliance approvals - Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal business leaders and external suppliers - Support clients on governance processes, AML screening, financial viability, and third-party risk management - Apply structured project management methodologies to organize, track, and execute sourcing activities - Conduct data collection, cleansing, and financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities - Resolve procurement disputes and handle escalation issues related to contract terms and supplier performance - Contribute to the continuous optimization of procurement policies, workflows, and tools Required Qualifications - Five or more years of professional IT sourcing or procurement experience - Hands-on experience with data analysis, Excel, and database management - Proven track record in deal management, contract reviews, and commercial negotiations - Strong understanding of general procurement challenges, vendor contract language, and legal terms - Familiarity with SAP Ariba Contracts and Sourcing Modules - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to influence stakeholders Why Join Us Sun Life offers a highly supportive workplace where you are encouraged to bring your unique self.
