Senior Network and Security Engineer

Role Overview AceStack is looking for a Senior Network and Security Engineer on a contract basis based in Chennai. This is a mid-senior level role requiring deep expertise in enterprise network architecture, firewall management, and security operations. The position involves a face-to-face interview and demands strong hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and Meraki technologies. Key Responsibilities - Deliver L3 and L4 support for complex network and security incidents across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments - Lead major incident management and conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis with preventive action plans - Design and implement enterprise network architectures including SD-WAN solutions using Fortinet and Meraki platforms - Configure high availability, redundancy, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity - Manage the full firewall rule lifecycle including creation, review, and optimisation of IPS/IDS, NAT, and threat protection policies - Configure and troubleshoot Site-to-Site IPSec VPN and Remote Access SSL VPN across global locations - Support Cisco and Meraki wireless deployments including RF tuning and wireless optimisation - Handle change management activities including CAB participation and risk assessments - Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and network architecture diagrams in line with ITIL processes - Mentor L1 and L2 engineers and act as the technical subject matter expert for network and security escalations - Collaborate closely with architects, vendors, and key stakeholders on transformation initiatives Required Qualifications - Hands-on experience with FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP - Proficiency in Cisco L2/L3 switching including VLAN, STP, and EtherChannel - Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP - Experience with Cisco WLC, wireless access points, QoS, and high availability technologies like HSRP and VRRP - Expertise in Meraki MX, MS, and MR platforms including Dashboard management and Auto VPN - Solid understanding of SD-WAN architecture, firewall policy design, IPS/IDS, NAT, and VPN - Preferred certifications include Fortinet NSE 5, NSE 6, or NSE 7, Cisco CCNP or CCIE, and Meraki CMNA or CMNO Why Join Us AceStack offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex enterprise network environments and security transformations at a senior level.
