Senior Designer - Piping

As a Senior Designer in Piping, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering outputs across complex energy projects at our Chennai facility. Key Responsibilities - Develop, review, and refine piping layouts, routing studies, and detailed 3D models - Prepare piping general arrangement drawings, isometrics, plot plans, and associated support drawings - Coordinate closely with process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and structural engineering disciplines - Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, and client requirements - Perform clash detection and resolve any design conflicts identified within the model - Review vendor drawings and incorporate relevant inputs accurately into the design - Support material take-off and line list verification activities - Participate in model reviews and client review meetings - Guide and mentor junior designers and modelers on the team - Ensure all deliverables are issued on schedule and meet quality requirements - Coordinate with site teams for construction support and as-built activities Required Qualifications - Demonstrated experience in piping design for oil, gas, or energy sector projects - Proficiency in SP3D or S3D software for 3D modelling - Working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drafting and drawing preparation - Strong understanding of piping codes, standards, and engineering practices - Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary engineering teams - Experience mentoring or guiding junior design staff Why Join Us Petrofac offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where your skills and contributions are recognised and rewarded on merit.
