Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview HackerRank is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the technical direction of critical backend systems and scale our developer platform. Based in Bengaluru East, you will own the architecture of core services and collaborate with product teams to design high-impact integrations. This role is ideal for a senior developer who is passionate about combining traditional backend engineering with cutting-edge agentic AI tools. - 3 to 6 years of backend software engineering experience - Expert level proficiency in Python, Ruby, Go, Java, or Node.js - Experience designing distributed systems and microservices - Proficiency with SQL database query optimization and schema design - Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines - Strong understanding of LLM integration, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows
