SAP ABAP Development Lead

Role Overview Tech Data APAC, a TD SYNNEX company and one of the world's largest IT distributors, is looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Development Lead to join its team in Chennai. In this role, you will design and deliver integrated SAP solutions aligned with business requirements across multi-tier computing environments. You will work at the intersection of technical leadership and hands-on development, guiding both internal teams and third-party developers to build robust, scalable applications. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and implement SAP ABAP solutions based on functional specifications and business requirements - Ensure all business applications are built in compliance with architectural standards and established development methodologies - Collaborate closely with SAP functional teams to support both SAP EWM and SAP ECC ABAP development - Lead and manage developers from third-party organisations to ensure timely and quality project delivery - Leverage AI capabilities to enhance development processes and outcomes, including but not limited to SAP AI tools - Maintain a strong understanding of the SAP roadmap to guide development decisions and future-proof solutions Required Qualifications - Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in SAP ABAP development - Proven experience as a SAP Technical Lead with hands-on exposure to S/4HANA - Solid understanding of SAP functional modules to effectively support development activities - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively as a team player in a global, cross-functional environment - Familiarity with AI tools and the ability to integrate AI into development workflows Why Join Us TD SYNNEX is a Fortune 500 organisation operating across more than 100 countries, offering a hybrid work model, continuous learning opportunities, and a clear career progression framework.
