Job Description

Role Overview State Street is looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer based in India to join its Global Technology Services division and play a pivotal role in ensuring end-to-end software quality. You will work within a fast-paced Agile environment, collaborating with skilled cross-functional teams on large-scale financial technology initiatives. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and test suites for web and API-based applications using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress - Perform and guide manual testing activities including functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing to ensure thorough validation and coverage - Develop and enhance automation scripts using Java, JavaScript, or Python with a strong focus on long-term maintainability - Plan and execute API testing and validation using Postman, Rest Assured, or equivalent tools, covering request and response verification and data flows - Apply testing standards including STLC, SDLC, and defect lifecycle management within Agile and Scrum environments - Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, developers, and product owners to translate complex business requirements into effective test cases - Mentor and upskill team members on automation best practices while actively contributing as a hands-on individual - Support CI/CD pipeline integration and manage defects using Jira to ensure predictable and efficient release cycles Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field - 5 or more years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance with a strong mix of automation and manual testing - Proven expertise with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress along with solid API testing exposure - Experience executing automation across web, API, and desktop applications - Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies with active participation across the sprint lifecycle - Demonstrated ability to maintain and optimise automation assets, test cases, and regression suites - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a detail-oriented and self-motivated approach - Exposure to model-based automation tools such as Tosca is an added advantage Why Join Us State Street's Global Technology Services team is at the heart of the company's digital transformation, leveraging cloud, AI, and robotic process automation to deliver innovative financial solutions worldwide. Requirements

- 5+ years in software quality assurance with automation and manual testing expertise - Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress for UI automation - Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Python for automation scripting - API testing experience using Postman or Rest Assured - Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and defect lifecycle management - Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments - Proficiency in defect management using Jira - CI/CD pipeline integration experience - Ability to mentor team members and drive quality best practices - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline - Exposure to Tosca or model-based automation tools (preferred)
