Production Artist

Role Overview SGS & Co is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Production Artist to join their creative team in Chennai. This entry-level full-time role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about design, print production, and artwork management. You will work within a structured production environment, collaborating with project managers, sales teams, and creative leads to deliver high-quality artwork outputs. Key Responsibilities - Read, interpret, and follow work instructions, SOPs, specifications, and workflow diagrams accurately - Save and organise all artwork files in designated server locations using proper document control and file naming conventions - Pre-flight incoming job files and compare customer-supplied materials against hard copies for size conformity and accuracy - Verify colour usage, check CT resolution, and ensure job instructions align with supplied artwork or references - Manipulate and adjust artwork files to match customer specifications, including type size, line thickness, and printing requirements - Assign colour builds and Pantone ink swatches to relevant art elements - Apply artwork to printer-supplied die drawings and create line extension mechanical art from supplied briefs or elements - Create and modify artwork to comply with regulatory specifications - Organise files according to defined job folder and server structure and prepare them for archiving upon project completion - Output internal and client-facing proofs as required for review and approval - Participate in process improvement initiatives and production meetings to contribute positively to the creative workflow Required Qualifications - Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related creative field - Basic understanding of pre-press, print production, and artwork preparation processes - Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign - Ability to follow detailed instructions and work within structured processes and deadlines - Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn through mentorship and team collaboration Why Join Us SGS & Co is a globally recognised brand and packaging company that offers entry-level professionals a structured and supportive environment to grow their production design career.
