Network Engineer - Routing and Switching

Role Overview AceStack is hiring a skilled Network Engineer with strong expertise in routing and switching for a contract role based in Chennai. This is a face-to-face interview opportunity suited for mid-senior level professionals who are ready to take ownership of enterprise network infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless network performance across a complex, multi-technology environment. Key Responsibilities - Configure, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, and wireless devices - Manage and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and internet connectivity issues across the organization - Configure and maintain routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP - Implement and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies such as VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, and HSRP/VRRP - Monitor network performance continuously and proactively resolve issues before they escalate - Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and hardware or software maintenance activities - Troubleshoot network outages and perform thorough root cause analysis - Collaborate with security, server, and application teams to ensure integrated and smooth network operations - Maintain up-to-date network documentation, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures - Ensure adherence to organizational security policies and relevant industry standards - Participate in on-call support rotation and assist in incident management activities Required Qualifications - Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and subnetting concepts - Hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches - Demonstrated expertise in routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP - Proficiency in switching technologies such as VLANs, STP, VTP, EtherChannel, HSRP, and VRRP - Solid understanding of WAN technologies including MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions - Experience using network monitoring and management tools in enterprise environments - Foundational knowledge of firewall concepts and network security best practices - Familiarity with Wireless LAN technologies and deployment Why Join Us AceStack offers you the opportunity to work on challenging enterprise network projects in a dynamic IT environment.
