ML Data Associate I

Role Overview Amazon is seeking a detail-oriented ML Data Associate I to join its cutting-edge AI and machine learning team in Chennai. In this role, you will contribute directly to building the ground truth data that powers Amazon's smart device technology, including audio, image, video, and text annotation tasks. Key Responsibilities - Perform annotation and labeling tasks across multiple data types including audio, image, video, and text files following defined quality guidelines - Execute structured data collection exercises using internal software tools and data capture systems while maintaining high accuracy standards - Apply strong language skills and grammatical knowledge to review and validate generated text for proper syntax and appropriate usage - Meet daily productivity and quality targets by tracking task completion and submitting individual status reports - Conduct internal quality audits and verification activities to uphold process integrity - Capture and report results accurately, escalate issues through designated portals, and resolve them within defined SLAs - Collaborate with stakeholders by sharing relevant information and managing internal and external dependencies - Adhere strictly to confidentiality and compliance requirements when handling customer data - Test new standard operating procedures and ML data tools, providing timely and specific feedback for process improvement Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in any discipline - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and applications - Strong English language skills at CEFR level B2 (Intermediate) or C1 (Advanced) - Willingness to work a rotational schedule including weekends and holidays - Familiarity with US culture is an added advantage - Minimum 1 year of experience in ML Data operations is preferred Why Join Us At Amazon, you will be part of an inclusive and empowering culture that encourages innovation and rewards ownership.
