Mainframe Batch and Console Operations Expert

Role Overview Kyndryl India is looking for a seasoned Mainframe Batch and Console Operations Expert to join its technology operations team in Bengaluru. In this mid-senior role, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting mission-critical mainframe production environments across Production, QA, and Test regions. You will work at the technical frontline, ensuring smooth batch operations, high system availability, and timely issue resolution in line with established service agreements. Key Responsibilities - Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve JCL abends, override issues, and symbolic parameter problems - Allocate and manage BIOS, TIF, GDG, and VSAM datasets across production environments - Identify job ownership for Production and QA workloads and coordinate with relevant development teams - Perform file out-of-space recovery and support batch and online recovery activities - Coordinate batch job restarts, abend recovery processes, and handle customer escalations - Monitor and manage OPC/TWS job scheduling including hold/release actions and predecessor/successor analysis - Support NDM/Connect Direct operations including process monitoring, troubleshooting transfer failures, and DR transfers - Perform PDX activities such as installs, promotes, backouts, and password reset support using Power IDs - Manage ITSM incidents, problem tickets, FACHA/Hot Item creation, ticket reassignment, and closure - Execute weekend IPL support activities, validate environment availability, and coordinate fixes for out-of-sequence abends - Process TSSR work orders and respond to operational emails within SLA timelines Required Qualifications - Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe production support - Strong expertise in JCL troubleshooting and abend resolution - Proficiency in OPC/TWS job scheduling and monitoring - Experience with NDM/Connect Direct file transfer operations - Solid knowledge of dataset management including VSAM, GDG, BIOS, and TIF - Experience with PDX deployment activities - Familiarity with ITSM ticketing systems for incident and problem management - Strong analytical and communication skills - Ability to collaborate with development, storage, infrastructure, and client teams Why Join Us At Kyndryl, you will be part of a purpose-driven team that powers systems relied upon by some of the world's leading enterprises, with access to continuous learning opportunities including certifications from Microsoft, Google, and Amazon.
