Job Description

Role Overview Thales is looking for a Lead Component Engineer to join our hardware and systems engineering competence center in Bengaluru. You will lead obsolescence management, parts evaluation, and library management for our cutting-edge aviation and defense systems. In this role, you will work closely with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure component availability and quality. Key Responsibilities - Monitor component lifecycles and implement mitigation strategies for obsolescence risks - Perform risk assessments on Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure continuous parts availability - Analyze obsolescence alerts and identify suitable alternative components - Maintain the component database, including parts validation within PLM tools - Lead cross-functional teams to resolve component-related technical issues Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline - Eight to twelve years of experience in component engineering and obsolescence management - Proven ability to interpret electrical wiring and mechanical diagrams - Experience with PLM databases like Teamcenter or Windchill - Strong communication skills and experience working with international teams - Ability to lead cross-functional and remote teams Why Join Us At Thales, you will work on state-of-the-art technologies that shape a safer, greener, and more inclusive world, while growing in a highly supportive global community.

Requirements

- 8 to 12 years of component engineering experience - Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering - Deep knowledge of active, passive, and mechanical components - Experience with component databases like SiliconExpert or IHS Markit - Ability to lead cross-functional and remote teams - Familiarity with PLM database validation processes
