Java Production Support Engineer

Role Overview Infosys is looking for an experienced Java Production Support Engineer to join its Application Development and Maintenance service line in Hyderabad. The role involves ensuring high availability and performance of business-critical applications through proactive monitoring, incident management, and root cause analysis. This is a hybrid position requiring participation in shift-based and on-call support to provide round-the-clock coverage. Key Responsibilities - Deliver end-to-end L1 and L2 production support for distributed business-critical applications, maintaining high availability and performance standards - Monitor application health, scheduled jobs, and system interfaces using standard tools and respond to alerts and service requests within defined SLA timelines - Conduct thorough incident triage, impact assessment, and initial root cause analysis, collaborating with development and infrastructure teams for lasting resolutions - Manage the complete incident, problem, and change lifecycle following ITIL best practices including ticket creation, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and formal closure - Execute standard operating procedures, deployment runbooks, and environment validation checklists for routine maintenance and release activities - Identify recurring issues and trends, proposing preventive measures and process improvements to strengthen system stability and user experience - Coordinate cross-functional activities during major incidents and planned releases, providing timely and clear updates to all relevant stakeholders - Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and support guides to enable faster incident resolution and team knowledge sharing - Support non-production environments through smoke testing, sanity checks, and post-deployment validations - Participate in shift rotations and on-call schedules to ensure 24x7 coverage for critical application environments Required Qualifications - Degree in MCA, MSc, MTech, BE, BCA, or BSc in any relevant specialization - Hands-on experience in Java-based application production support - Working knowledge of ITIL processes, incident management, and change management practices - Understanding of design principles, architecture fundamentals, and performance engineering concepts - Familiarity with SDLC and agile methodologies - Strong analytical, logical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills - Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into system-level solutions Why Join Us Infosys is one of India's leading IT services companies, offering a collaborative environment where you can work on enterprise-scale applications and advance your career in production support and application management.
