IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator

Role Overview Teacher Pool is seeking an experienced and passionate IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator to lead and manage the full delivery of the MYP across Grades 6 to 10 at a reputed international school in Chennai. This is a senior academic leadership role that demands deep knowledge of the IB framework, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to fostering inquiry-based, student-centered learning. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary bridge between school leadership, faculty, students, parents, and the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) to ensure programme excellence. Key Responsibilities - Lead the end-to-end planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the IB Middle Years Programme across all grade levels - Ensure full alignment of the MYP framework including Approaches to Learning (ATL), key concepts, global contexts, and Service as Action with the school's vision and educational philosophy - Guide teachers in curriculum design, unit planning, and MYP-compliant assessment strategies - Monitor curriculum articulation and vertical progression across subject groups and grade levels - Mentor and support new faculty members in understanding and meeting IB MYP standards and expectations - Promote reflective teaching practices, integration of educational technology, and continuous professional development among teaching staff - Address parent concerns and queries related to curriculum delivery and programme implementation - Contribute actively to whole-school academic planning, improvement initiatives, and self-study processes Required Qualifications - Master's Degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline - B.Ed., PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification - Minimum 10 to 15 years of teaching experience within an IB or international curriculum environment - Minimum 3 to 5 years of academic leadership experience as an MYP Coordinator, Head of Department, or equivalent role - Strong and demonstrated understanding of the IB MYP framework, philosophy, curriculum design, and assessment practices - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills Why Join Us Teacher Pool connects exceptional educators with leading international schools across India, offering opportunities to make a lasting impact in progressive learning environments.
