IB Middle Years Programme MYP Coordinator

Role Overview Teacher Pool is seeking an experienced and passionate IB Middle Years Programme Coordinator to lead the planning, delivery, and ongoing development of the MYP across Grades 6 to 10 at a reputed school in Chennai. This is a senior academic leadership role that demands deep knowledge of the IB MYP framework, a commitment to inquiry-based learning, and the ability to mentor and inspire teaching teams. The Coordinator will work in close partnership with school leadership, faculty, parents, and the International Baccalaureate Organisation to ensure outstanding programme quality and student outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Lead the full implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the IB Middle Years Programme across all subject groups and grade levels - Ensure the MYP framework elements including Approaches to Learning, Global Contexts, Key Concepts, and Service as Action are effectively integrated into daily teaching and learning - Guide teachers in curriculum planning, interdisciplinary unit design, and MYP assessment practices - Support the professional growth of faculty through reflective teaching practices, coaching, and targeted development initiatives - Onboard and mentor new staff members to help them understand MYP expectations and IBO requirements - Monitor curriculum progression and articulation across Grades 6 to 10 to ensure coherence and alignment with the school's educational vision - Respond to parent queries regarding curriculum structure, assessment, and programme implementation - Drive the integration of educational technology and innovative pedagogical strategies across the programme - Contribute actively to whole-school academic planning and continuous improvement efforts Required Qualifications - Master's Degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline - B.Ed., PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification - Minimum 10 to 15 years of teaching experience within an IB or international curriculum setting - At least 3 to 5 years of academic leadership experience as an MYP Coordinator, Head of Department, or in a comparable role - Thorough understanding of the IB MYP philosophy, framework, and assessment standards - Strong skills in curriculum leadership, faculty development, and stakeholder communication Why Join Us Teacher Pool connects passionate educators with leading international schools across India, offering meaningful roles that allow you to shape the future of education.
