Expert Python Engineer

Role Overview Ciklum India is hiring an Expert Python Engineer to join a high-performing cross-functional team building the technology experiences of tomorrow. This is a full-time opportunity based in Chennai for a seasoned backend leader ready to own architecture and execution. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and Django - Architect and implement core components for marketplace systems including catalog, transactions, and third-party integrations - Build and manage workflow engines covering process automation, orchestration, and state management - Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate robust APIs with UI prototypes - Lead backend development efforts with a focus on code quality, performance, and scalability - Define and enforce best practices in system design, coding standards, and application security - Optimize applications for maximum speed, efficiency, and reliability - Work closely with product, DevOps, and QA teams in an agile environment - Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and resolve complex technical challenges Required Qualifications - 10 or more years of professional experience in backend development - Strong hands-on expertise in Python and the Django framework - Deep understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture - Experience with relational database design using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent - Solid knowledge of asynchronous programming, caching strategies, and performance tuning - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Proficiency in Git-based version control and CI/CD pipeline management - Strong system design and problem-solving capabilities - Familiarity with workflow engines or orchestration systems is a strong advantage - Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and security best practices is desirable Why Join Us Ciklum offers a collaborative One Team culture where you can work on large-scale, globally impactful projects alongside top-tier engineering talent.
