Job Description
Role Overview
Narayana Health, one of India's leading healthcare groups, is looking for a detail-oriented Estimation Executive to join its Finance and Operations team in Bengaluru. This role sits at the intersection of clinical operations and financial transparency, making it ideal for professionals who can bridge the gap between hospital billing processes and patient-facing financial communication. The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring cost accuracy, timely disclosures, and a seamless financial experience for patients undergoing surgeries and inpatient procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The Estimation Executive will be responsible for generating precise pre-admission cost estimates for surgical procedures, inpatient treatments, and diagnostic packages based on established clinical protocols and consultant-specific preferences. The role requires daily monitoring of active patient files to compare projected costs against actual real-time consumption of pharmacy items, surgical consumables, and OT usage. The executive will also track cancelled surgeries, document their financial impact, and ensure patients are clearly informed of any non-refundable charges or rescheduling implications. Consolidating billing data and patient feedback into structured reports for the finance and operations teams will be a routine deliverable. The role further involves diagnosing and articulating reasons for bill escalations such as extended operation theatre time, changes in surgical materials, or unplanned ICU admissions. Preparing weekly and monthly performance presentations for senior management covering estimation accuracy, counselling outcomes, and patient financial satisfaction is also a key expectation. Additionally, the executive will support patients in interpreting their insurance benefits, co-payment obligations, and out-of-pocket liabilities prior to hospital admission, and will handle billing dispute resolution by providing evidence-backed justifications for clinical charges.
Required Qualifications
A background in Finance, Business Statistics, or a related commerce discipline will set candidates up for success in this role. Hands-on proficiency in advanced Excel functions including Macros, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables is essential, along with working knowledge of at least one data visualisation tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Familiarity with SQL for querying and analysing billing datasets is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are equally important, as the executive will regularly translate complex financial information for doctors, nurses, and patients in an accessible manner.
Why Join Us
Narayana Health is a purpose-driven organisation committed to making world-class healthcare affordable and accessible. Joining this team means contributing to a mission that directly impacts patients' lives and financial wellbeing.
