Deputy General Manager - Cloud and Security Solution Engineering

Role Overview Tata Communications is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead large-scale Cloud and Container Platform transformation programmes. This senior role sits at the intersection of infrastructure delivery, cloud-native modernisation, and cross-functional stakeholder management. You will represent the Core Delivery team and drive end-to-end programme execution across VMware to OpenShift migration, CaaS infrastructure onboarding, and telecom network workload integration. Key Responsibilities - Represent the customer Core Delivery team in engagements with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business units - Lead project governance meetings, steering committee reviews, planning workshops, and technical discussions - Create and manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables - Coordinate with platform, infrastructure, network, security, and application teams for end-to-end integrations - Manage onboarding of CaaS infrastructure and Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs) - Coordinate VMware to OpenShift Virtualization migration activities - Engage and manage Cyber Security Assurance processes, security assessments, and compliance activities - Track and manage project documentation, status reporting, RAID logs, and executive dashboards - Raise and manage Permit to Work requests and operational change activities - Ensure timely escalation and mitigation of risks and issues impacting delivery timelines - Work closely with OEM and vendor partners including HPE and Red Hat - Manage cross-functional and geographically distributed teams - Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimise delivery processes Required Qualifications - 10 or more years of experience in Technical Project Management within Telecom or IT Infrastructure domains - Strong experience managing large-scale Cloud Transformation or Container Platform programmes - Hands-on understanding of Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, VMware Virtualisation, OpenShift Virtualisation and KubeVirt, and Cloud-Native Infrastructure - Experience working with Telecom Network workloads, CNFs, and VNFs - Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination experience - Experience managing infrastructure deployment, integration, migration, and onboarding activities - Good understanding of networking, IP connectivity, security compliance, and data centre operations - Experience handling executive-level reporting and governance - Preferred: exposure to Baremetal OpenShift deployments and knowledge of Telco Cloud, NFVI, or CNIS platforms Why Join Us Tata Communications is redefining global connectivity through Cloud, IoT, Security, and next-generation Network Services, offering senior professionals a platform to lead transformative programmes with real enterprise impact. - 10+ years in Technical Project Management in Telecom or IT Infrastructure - Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes - Strong knowledge of VMware Virtualisation and OpenShift Virtualisation or KubeVirt - Experience managing Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs) and VNFs - Proficiency in project governance, RAID log management, and executive reporting - Experience coordinating VMware to OpenShift migration programmes - Strong vendor and OEM management skills (HPE, Red Hat) - Good understanding of IP networking, security compliance, and data centre operations - Ability to manage geographically distributed cross-functional teams - Preferred: knowledge of Baremetal OpenShift, Telco Cloud, NFVI, or CNIS platforms
