Deputy General Manager - Cloud and Security Solution Engineering

Role Overview Tata Communications is seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead its CaaS and OpenShift Transformation programme. This senior role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, network virtualisation, and enterprise delivery governance. The ideal candidate will bring deep telecom and IT infrastructure expertise to drive complex, multi-stakeholder cloud migration initiatives from planning through to production. Key Responsibilities - Represent the Core Delivery team in engagements with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business units - Lead project governance meetings, steering committee reviews, planning workshops, and high-level technical discussions - Build and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risk registers, and deliverable trackers - Coordinate across platform, infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless end-to-end integration - Manage onboarding of CaaS infrastructure and Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs) into production environments - Drive and coordinate VMware to OpenShift Virtualization migration activities with relevant technical teams - Oversee Cyber Security Assurance processes, security assessments, and compliance activities throughout project lifecycle - Maintain project documentation, status reports, RAID logs, and executive dashboards to high governance standards - Raise and manage Permits to Work (PTWs) and operational change requests in line with change management processes - Ensure timely escalation and resolution of risks and issues impacting delivery timelines - Manage relationships with OEM and vendor partners including HPE and Red Hat - Lead cross-functional and geographically distributed teams with clarity and accountability - Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to optimise delivery processes and outcomes Required Qualifications - 10 or more years of experience in Technical Project Management within Telecom or IT Infrastructure domains - Proven track record managing large-scale Cloud Transformation or Container Platform programmes - Hands-on working knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, VMware Virtualisation, OpenShift Virtualisation, KubeVirt, and Cloud-Native Infrastructure - Experience working with Telecom Network workloads including CNFs and VNFs - Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills at all organisational levels - Solid understanding of networking, IP connectivity, security compliance, and data centre operations - Experience delivering executive-level reporting and programme governance - Exposure to Baremetal OpenShift deployments is an advantage - Knowledge of Telco Cloud, NFVI, or CNIS platforms is preferred Why Join Us At Tata Communications, you will be part of a globally connected organisation redefining the future of communications through cloud, mobility, security, and intelligent networking.
