Job Description

Role Overview MIGA's Finance and Risk Department (MIGFR) is hiring two Credit Risk Officers to join its Credit Team in Chennai. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to global development finance by assessing and managing credit risk for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and reinsurance counterparties across emerging markets. The role sits within a team that also governs MIGA's risk limit framework and supports new guarantee product development in partnership with business and operational units. Key Responsibilities - Conduct credit due diligence and risk analysis for SOE transactions under MIGA's Non-Honoring of Financial Obligations by State-Owned Enterprises (NHFO SOE) guarantee product - Recommend credit risk mitigants and structural enhancements and present findings to MIGA's decision-making committees and Board of Directors - Perform annual and ad hoc credit risk assessments of reinsurance counterparties and prepare detailed rating recommendation reports - Participate in the quarterly Reinsurer Counterparty Credit Risk Committee to present credit assessments - Support portfolio monitoring activities and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of MIGA's risk limit management framework - Collaborate with underwriting, risk, and business development teams on emerging guarantee products and risk initiatives Required Qualifications - Master's degree in Finance, MBA, or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant experience in credit risk analysis - Deep technical knowledge of credit risk methodologies gained at a major financial institution or credit rating agency - Hands-on experience conducting bespoke corporate or SOE credit analyses, not limited to portfolio-level work - Familiarity with reinsurance counterparty risk assessment and emerging market credit environments - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or French is an added advantage - High AI literacy applied to risk management contexts is preferred - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural, diverse team setting Why Join Us Working with MIGA and the World Bank Group places you at the centre of global development finance, where your credit expertise directly supports economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries. Requirements

- Master's degree in Finance, MBA, or related field - Minimum 5 years of credit risk analysis experience - Experience with SOE, corporate, financial institution, or reinsurance credit assessment - Familiarity with credit rating agency methodologies - Emerging markets credit exposure - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent written and oral communication in English - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines - Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills - High level of AI literacy in risk management contexts preferred - Spanish or French language proficiency is a plus
