Job Description

Role Overview PayJoy is a mission-driven credit provider helping underserved customers across emerging markets achieve financial stability through innovative secured credit solutions. We are looking for a seasoned Country Manager to lead PayJoy India, owning full business accountability while shaping a high-impact team and driving growth at scale. This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a fintech business from the ground up within a globally backed organisation that has served over 18 million customers worldwide. Key Responsibilities - Own and manage the complete P&L for PayJoy India, delivering ambitious targets across originations, AUM, revenue, and profitability - Design and execute the India go-to-market strategy including geographic expansion, offline B2B2C retail distribution, and online direct-to-consumer channel development - Build the India organisation end to end by recruiting, developing, and retaining talent across commercial, operations, risk, and support functions - Manage the RBI regulatory relationship, ensure ongoing compliance, and proactively engage policymakers to safeguard and grow PayJoy's operating licence - Secure and nurture OEM partnerships, including device compatibility agreements and commercial programs in coordination with the global OEM team - Drive cross-functional execution with global product, engineering, risk, and people teams to deliver the India roadmap with speed and precision - Define and model PayJoy India's culture in alignment with the company's core mission and guiding principles Required Qualifications - 10 or more years of experience in financial services in India with a proven track record of building or scaling a business - Senior-level experience within a regulated financial services organisation in India with strong familiarity with RBI oversight and consumer lending compliance - Demonstrated ability to build and lead large teams including hiring senior leadership and scaling organisations from early stages - Prior experience working in or closely with a global company and the cross-cultural fluency to bridge global headquarters with local India operations - Willingness to be deeply hands-on with unit economics, field operations, and retail or online partner engagement while also owning high-level strategy Why Join Us PayJoy offers a purpose-led work environment where you will have the autonomy to shape an entire country operation with the backing of a globally profitable and rapidly growing fintech platform. Requirements

- 10+ years in Indian financial services with business building or scaling experience - Senior experience in a regulated financial services environment in India - Deep understanding of RBI oversight and consumer lending compliance - Proven track record of building and leading large cross-functional teams - Experience in or with a global company and strong cross-cultural communication skills - Hands-on approach to unit economics, field operations, and partner engagement - Ability to own and communicate both operational detail and high-level strategy
