Contracts Specialist

Role Overview Allison Transmission is looking for a detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to join its procurement team in Chennai. Key Responsibilities - Create and maintain purchase orders and scheduling agreements along with all supporting documentation and required authorisations - Ensure all procurement systems and records remain compliant with internal policies, corporate delegation of authority, and applicable government regulations - Participate in problem-solving initiatives related to stakeholder concerns, data accuracy, and procurement lifecycle management - Act as a liaison between the Procurement team and functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Global Supply Chain - Manage procurement files, reports, and records across shared repositories and collaboration platforms - Maintain data integrity within the procurement master data system and ensure master records are secure and accessible to authorised users - Prepare, analyse, and present reports and statistical data to support business decisions - Independently govern transactions to ensure accuracy across procurement master records Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent education and experience - 0 to 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook - Working knowledge of an ERP or purchasing system for order entry, requisitions, and reporting - Strong oral and written communication skills - Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse teams - Demonstrated analytical ability to handle complex problem scenarios - Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, document, and prioritise multiple tasks - Familiarity with purchasing and global supply chain concepts - Willingness to travel up to 25 percent as required Why Join Us Allison Transmission is a globally respected name in the transmission solutions industry with a strong commitment to equal opportunity and employee growth.
