Backend Engineer

Role Overview Recrew AI is looking for a Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python or Go to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. You will design, build, and deploy production-grade microservices that power our consumer AI platform serving over one hundred million users. This role offers the opportunity to own mission-critical services end-to-end, solving complex problems around latency, cost, and reliability. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and deploy production-grade microservices using Python or Go, ensuring high availability and data consistency - Develop reliable REST and asynchronous APIs to support complex, high-traffic consumer AI workflows - Optimize system performance through latency reduction, throughput improvements, and asynchronous processing pipelines - Identify and resolve scaling bottlenecks in production distributed environments serving millions of users - Own end-to-end production services, from initial architecture and implementation to monitoring, alerting, and incident response Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - Four to eight years of backend engineering experience, with Python or Go as your primary language - At least two years of hands-on experience building and operating production microservices - Proven track record of optimizing API latency and throughput in high-traffic, production distributed systems - Experience with asynchronous processing systems and message queues, such as Kafka Why Join Us At Recrew AI, you will help build the core intelligence infrastructure for India's largest consumer AI platform. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field - 4 to 8 years of professional experience in backend software engineering - 2+ years of hands-on experience building production microservices using Python or Go - Proven experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems handling high-traffic workloads - Deep understanding of asynchronous processing systems, message brokers (like Kafka), and caching layers - Experience with REST and asynchronous API design and development - Hands-on ownership of production services, including on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis - Ability to independently drive technical design and end-to-end delivery of complex services
