Associate Engineer - AI Services

Role Overview NTT DATA is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Associate Engineer to join its AI Services team in Chennai. This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates who are passionate about software development, cloud technologies, and AI-driven solutions. You will work within a collaborative, globally distributed team to design, develop, and test software systems across micro-services environments. Key Responsibilities - Receive detailed instructions to design and develop software solutions that support business growth - Assist with writing, testing, and refactoring code across various programming languages - Support automated testing execution and software deployment activities - Participate in designing and debugging large-scale distributed systems under guidance - Develop functionality that works with APIs, telemetry data, and ML/AI algorithms on both structured and unstructured data - Assist with building and integrating solutions through automation and third-party software - Contribute to writing and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures - Collaborate with product teams to deliver high-quality software components Required Qualifications - Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office 365 - Foundational knowledge of programming languages including Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, or Node.js - Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles - Familiarity with micro-services architecture and RESTful API development - Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Cassandra - Basic exposure to container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, or LXC/LXD - Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and Agile or Lean development practices - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline - Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals certification is preferred Why Join Us NTT DATA is a global technology leader trusted by 75 percent of the Fortune Global 100, offering you a platform to build a meaningful career at the intersection of AI, cloud, and enterprise innovation. - Knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C# or Node.js - Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP and Microsoft Azure - Familiarity with micro-services architecture and RESTful APIs - Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Elasticsearch and Cassandra - Basic exposure to Kubernetes, Docker or LXC/LXD container technologies - Understanding of CI/CD concepts and Agile or Lean methodologies - Familiarity with ML/AI algorithms and working with large datasets - Strong analytical and debugging skills - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field - Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals certification preferred
