Air Freight Assistant Deputy Manager

Role Overview Cargo-partner is a globally recognised freight forwarding and logistics company seeking an experienced Air Freight Assistant or Deputy Manager to join its growing India operations in Chennai. Key Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end air cargo export shipments including handling, routing, and timely delivery - Conduct price negotiations with airlines and General Sales Agents to optimise cost and service quality - Prepare competitive pricing proposals and make offers to customers and logistics partners - Oversee cargo routing through international hubs and coordinate with branch offices for smooth distribution - Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for air freight processes - Monitor shipment dispatching procedures including electronic data entry and insurance coverage - Liaise regularly with agents and service providers to maintain strong business relationships - Track and report on shipment position results and team performance metrics - Handle customer complaints and claims in coordination with the legal department - Train and mentor teammates and trainees within the air freight division - Identify and develop new freight lanes to support business expansion Required Qualifications - Graduate degree in any discipline with commercial or freight forwarding education preferred - Minimum 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in air freight operations - Working knowledge of ULD and aircraft loadability standards - Proficiency in CargoWise One (CW1) is a strong advantage - Competent in MS Office applications and basic computer operations - Strong written and spoken English communication skills - Commercially minded with a proactive, team-oriented approach Why Join Us Cargo-partner offers a competitive salary package, attractive incentive rewards, and comprehensive health insurance coverage to support your wellbeing.
