Senior Manager, GenAI

Role Overview Docusign is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Manager for Generative AI to join its engineering team in Bengaluru. This is a people manager role reporting to the Senior Director, focused on leading high-impact AI initiatives that drive employee productivity, developer efficiency, and business growth. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and agentic systems, along with a proven ability to build and retain top engineering talent. Key Responsibilities - Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on designing and delivering modern AI platforms and agent solutions across enterprise workflows - Define the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems, including model integration, proactive agent behavior, and evaluation infrastructure - Evaluate and select AI platforms such as agentic frameworks and enterprise search solutions while remaining hands-on with ADK, MCP, and A2A protocols - Identify tooling gaps in enterprise AI architecture including long-term memory, caching, agent marketplace, and agent registry - Oversee the complete lifecycle of AI software components including foundation model fine-tuning, LLM inference, guardrails, model evaluation, governance, and observability - Architect a scalable semantic and contextual layer to establish a unified system of reference for context across all AI systems and agents - Establish governance frameworks for agentic systems including policy-as-code enforcement, human-in-the-loop approval patterns, audit trails, and data handling controls - Ensure robust security across all AI platforms including identity and access management, secrets management, threat modeling, and adversarial testing - Partner with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products - Introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost efficiency, latency, and throughput - Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track AI performance, ROI, and FinOps metrics Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or related field with 8 or more years of AI or ML development experience, or a Master's degree with 6 or more years of equivalent experience - Minimum 4 years of people management experience in a top-tier SaaS or product company with a proven record of building and scaling engineering teams - Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying enterprise AI agents using GenAI and LLMs - Strong technical foundation with the ability to guide architectural decisions in a fast-moving and ambiguous AI product environment - Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to drive clarity from complex situations - Preferred experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Snowflake - Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in LangChain, LangGraph, A2A framework, or equivalent agent development tooling - Familiarity with AI governance, security, and compliance frameworks in enterprise environments Why Join Us Docusign is the global leader in e-signature and intelligent agreement management, trusted by over 1.5 million customers across 180 countries.
