Pharmacist – BPharm / DPharm (Fresher to 5 Years Experience)

Key Responsibilities The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications with complete accuracy within defined turnaround times, verifying prescriptions for correctness, patient safety, and therapeutic appropriateness. The role involves receiving, organising, and maintaining pharmaceutical stock across dispensing racks, cold storage, refrigerators, and the pharmacy store. The Pharmacist will assist senior pharmacists in managing purchased medicines, ward stock issuance, and conducting physical stock verification and expiry checks. Preparing extemporaneous and sterile formulations such as intravenous medications under supervision is also part of the role. The candidate will participate in ward rounds, take patient drug histories, liaise with medical and nursing teams regarding medication-related concerns, and provide professional guidance to pharmacy assistants. Additional responsibilities include maintaining departmental cleanliness and order, contributing to hospital drug-use guidelines and policy implementation, attending departmental meetings, supporting training programmes, and providing drug expenditure reports. The Pharmacist is expected to answer medication queries from internal hospital staff, other facilities, and the public, while keeping current with developments in pharmaceutical practice.
