Lead Software QA Engineer

Role Overview Logitech is looking for a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test to join its Chennai team and drive the next generation of test automation platforms. This mid-senior level role bridges the gap between software development and quality assurance, working closely with both SW QA and SW development teams. The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer with a passion for building tools that improve team productivity and software quality at scale. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop robust automation solutions to address complex testing and release engineering challenges - Architect the evolution of internal testing frameworks, libraries, and supporting infrastructure - Automate Android-based CollabOS software features including the test environment and infrastructure setup - Champion best practices in programming design, software testing methodologies, and object-oriented development - Build intuitive tools and modular techniques to improve developer and QA team productivity - Actively collaborate with developer and QA teams to ensure delivered tools meet real-world needs - Lead, guide, and mentor QA team members while articulating technical challenges and solutions clearly Required Qualifications - 8 to 10 years of hands-on software development experience - Strong programming proficiency in Python and web frontend libraries such as Vue or Vuetify - Solid experience with OpenCV and GStreamer in application or service development - Strong object-oriented design skills with a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms - Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Android UIAutomator, Selenium, or Playwright - Experience in building, configuring, and running test environments - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills - Proven leadership ability with experience mentoring QA teams and knowledge of industry QA standards Why Join Us Logitech is a globally recognised brand built on authentic collaboration, diversity, and a culture that empowers people to make a positive global impact in their own way.
